Tornado Shot Guide! ded

Ahhhhhh de tornado shot guide is too confusing I am making one because I hate it.

THIS IS LIFE/EVASION BASED!!!!!!! COULD ALSO BE LIFE/ARMOR BASED(expensive)
IF YOU WANT A CI TORNADO SHOT, UHHHHH YOU WOULD NEED BOUT 30 REGRETS+QUEST PASSIVE RESPECS

Banditos: Oak/Krait/Krait; You could make arguments for killing all in run 2. Some nodes are worth more than 8% attack speed...but generally clear speed is meta. You can also choose between the Frenzy charge and a Power charge in run 3. Frenzy is pretty much better in all cases...Power charge only if you think 10%ish crit will outweigh 4% attack speed/damage. It could be possible with a high enough crit multi, I just like attack speed.

Passive Tree(s):

Leveling: 25 Points 50 Points (pick up a Drillneck when you get the pierce cluster)
75 Points (you are getting close to huge damage here, start looking for crit bows!)

Level 71 completed skeleton! 141% increased life, 362% crit chance, 149% multi!

From here you have many options!

My best "recommendation": (Please get this unless you smash everything already.) From here you wanna pick up some Snakebite Gloves, and take your tree to this (level 86) to get good single target outta Tornado Shot! Also consider picking up an Added Chaos Damage for a 5/6 link! Poison/Bleeding/Chaos Damage is the meta, it's op.

Option 1. Ahhhhh I'm dying!!!!!: Evasion sucks! Even with taking almost every life node you only have 140% more life! The best solution to this, as I can see, is to path the the great Scion life rectangle! You waste 6 passive points to get there, and 8 points to complete the circle. 14 levels! Yikes! However this takes you from 141% life (pretty low) to 190% (pretty high).

This life is not required for most content. Even top tier maps should fall pretty easily from offscreen with the dps of the build. You may need the life for top tier bosses, however. Otherwise you will get one shot if you don't dodge or kill them extremely fast(which is possible). It is not entirely recommended, but if you wanna be the tanky ranger go for it.

High tier unique for this setup: Holy fuck Kaom's Heart with this tree will let you do any content in the game. It is very expensive though.

Option 2. I am critting everything offscreen why do I need more life?: People play softcore for a reason, max damage! From your chaos damage tree, we are going to work our way into the left of the poison damage cluster. This section offers, in order of priority to get, Vaal Pact, which increases your sustain by a lot, (you can actually rush if you ever need it...),  increased crit chance and multi.. The 9% attack speed node is huge as well. We also finish out the Bow Crit wheel in the bottom right with the 100th point.

High tier unique for this setup: A generalist option, but a very strong one. Kintsugi lessens the chance you will get one shot, and helps your evasion on trash mobs.

It's up to you which one you go, you could go neither and pick up some jewel sockets and put some good Bow Jewels or Poacher's Aims in them. Just remember than Pierce chance and Drillneck's damage modifier cannot exceed 100%.

Option 3. Lifeleech Facetank: This is somewhat of a funny tree. Unless you get oneshot or have to stop attacking, I don't think you would die. Pickups up more life and leech. If you go this tree % physical leech on items is very good. It's very good in general for archers. I also recommend this one if you are going a Xoph's Nurture Build later on, to help with sustain.

High Tier Unique Option: Expensive, but great, Atziri's Acuity is essentially a free Vaal Pact with no downside. Possibly farmable as well! Also has crit on gloves!

Option 4. Iron Reflexes: This is what I was going to transition to as blade flurry, it's somewhat less applicable to archers, though I really like Iron Reflexes. If you don't like getting one shot, this is the tree. It also picks up some more life! It gets to 170%, which is very acceptable. Dps-wise it picks up a little more physical and attack speed. The kicker is you lose acrobatics, as running both Iron Reflexes and Acro would be stupid.

High Tier Unique Option:  A new breach league amazing unique, The Perfect Form! This is an amazing chest and it gives so many bonuses that it makes iron reflexes probably better than acro, imo (I hate acro.) You get free Arctic Armor! Free Phase Acro! HUGE amounts of evasion/armor from Cold Res! High life!

Option 5. Full Meta: If you like Frenzy Charges here you go. This would make Frenzy as an attack do outrageous dps! You would also move super fast! I also pick up Vaal Pact (which could be dropped), the ultra life leech node, and the lone projectile damage keynode. This is probably the best tree from a generalist/farming standpoint.

Unique Option?: Rotgut synergizes extremely well with high frenzy charges and crit!, I'd pick one up, extremely underrated flask! Additionally, if your life can spare it, Darkray Vectors are the go-to frenzy unique. Together, this will make you probably the highest clearspeed in the game. (besides maybe a Raider with the 50 exalt bow...) Darkray also synergizes with Acro, and will give you and additional 16% dodge at 8 charges.

LINKS

Tornado Shot
Leveling: Tornado Shot-Physical Projectile Attack Damage-Greater Multiple Projectiles-Faster Attacks. 4 green

Fast Clearing 5 link: Tornado Shot-Physical Projectile Attack Damage-Greater Multiple Projectiles-Faster Attacks-Increased Critical Damage. 4 green 1 blue You could also use Increased AoE instead of Crit damage if you are one shotting things without Crit Damage!

Single Target 5 link: Tornado Shot-Physical Projectile Attack Damage-Greater Multiple Projectiles-Faster Attacks-Added Chaos Damage. 4 green 1 blue. This could be faster AoE clear than the above setup anyway, I would try it.

Best 6 Link: Tornado Shot-Physical Projectile Attack Damage-Greater Multiple Projectiles-Faster Attacks-Added Chaos Damage-Void Manipulation 5 green 1 blue. This is huge AoE and single target.

Frenzy Charges-are very important for single target and clear speed. Pick up two frenzy charges in the tree at any time if you want more. I think 4 is good, but you could have 6.
We need frenzy charges to poison things with Snakebite. This is also why I prefer to keep frenzy charges at 4.

You should use 2 different moves to generate Frenzy charges. Frenzy and Blood Rage

Blood Rage
With Increased Duration, you can get 15ish seconds on Blood Rage, without it's 10 seconds. When you are clearing maps, it should constantly be up, as it refreshes when you kill something. With my tree you should easily outsustain the damage of it. Sadly it does make you less tanky for clearing. You can look for %physical damage leeched on your Jewelry to also help counteract this.

Honestly I would just socket Blood Rage solo wherever. Anywhere it would fit. You need it late game, I don't think it's that good until you get the %life leech in tree.

Frenzy
Frenzy is how we generate Frenzy charges on bosses. You use Frenzy until you hit max Frenzy charges, (4-6 depending on your tree) and then you can Tornado Shot or just keep Frenzy spamming, whatever you like more. Frenzy prolly does more damage single target than Tornado shot until it's on a 5 or 6 link. Again, you decide. This could be a candidate for your other 5/6 link.

Frenzy-Faster Attacks
2 green, that's the base. From here we have utility!

CoH Frenzy-this make frenzy soften up the big targets for Tornado Shot
Frenzy-Faster Attacks-Curse on Hit-Vulnerability
2 Green, 2 Blue

^With a 5 link I would either put in Added Chaos, either Crit support or Life Leech. Added Chaos/Crit is more dps, Life Leech would make you invincible unless you get cc-ed or one shot.
2 Green, 3 Blue, or 2 Green 2 Blue, 1 Red

Auras
I would run two auras, their links would conveniently add up to 4.

For your big aura you can run either Hatred or Grace. Hatred for offensive, Grace for defensive. Level the other one in your 2nd weapon set.

For a small aura, you run Herald of Ice. You may think that's two, but I like to run this link.

Hatred/Grace-Herald of Ice-Curse on Hit-Assassin's Mark
2 green 2 blue.

If you lack resists you could also run Purity of Elements, the link would be 1 green, 3 blue.

You may be saying, "Dlove you have two curses on your links now, this doesn't work!" You would be right, but I have accounted for this!

Assassin's Mark will never trigger on a single target. This is because to proc the curse an enemy needs to be hit by the Herald of Ice explosion! Therefore you run two curses passively by just using your moves on the right target! Herald of Ice procs power charges for Aoe clearspeed, and Frenzy helps single target immensely! This is good!

Okay so you should go for 2 5 links, a bow and your chest! These should be your Tornado shot setup and Frenzy setup. Link them for when you want!

Then you have your Aura setup, which will always be a 2 green, 2 blue!

Blood Rage/Mobility Link
This leaves two more pieces of gear for Blood Rage and whatever your wanna use! Blink Arrow is a good choice. This is the part of your links with the most variance. Personally I recommend:
Blood Rage-Faster Casting-Blink Arrow-Faster Attacks

Golem/Immortal Call/4 Link of your choice
Then you have a final 4 link. This is superfluous, but I recommend it, as it's my favorite passive defensive link. It will auto summon your golem, and make you immune to damage for about second or so if you take a certain amount of damage.

Summon Ice Golem-Immortal Call-Cast When Damage Taken Support-Increased Duration
1 green 3 red.

What is a good bow??

Here are the stats you want on your bow. In priority.

1. % Increased Physical Damage (max roll is 220%!)
2. Increased Crit Chance (ideally as an implicit and on the item)
3. Added Physical
4. Attack Speed
5. Added Elemental

That's a god bow. There are many ways to go about getting a good bow! The easiest way, is to have 50 exalts and go buy the best bow in the league.
This isn't a cheap option. To look for cheaper options, go to poe.trade and search for bows, then sort (by clicking on) by pDPS. You can also use the "buyout: section of poe.trade to get bows in the price ranges you can afford at the moment. At the highest tier of content, a good yellow bow will out dps any legendary for a non-fire chieftain tornado shot build.

While you're farming currency and trying to find a good cheap bow, most archers go for a cheap, good unique to carry them for a long while. A good cheap starter bow is Death's Opus. You can either just buy one, or buy a Death's Harp and the prophecy The Bowstring's Music.

Unique Bow Options for Endgame?

Once you are comfortable with your damage and crit, you can upgrade from a Death's Opus to 3 different uniques if you can't find a good yellow.

Lioneye's Glare can  be highest pDPS unique bow in the game at a cost, it has no crit. If your crit is comfortable without it being on your bow (i.e. get it other places) this can be a great option. It also does away with the pesky accuracy rating.

Reach of the Council is almost a straight upgrade from a Death's Opus. It loses crit stats, as most high end unique bows do, but offers probably the fastest clear speed in the game for trash. 4 additional Tornado Shots is nothing to sneeze at.

New and fresh for this league, Xoph's Nurture is an interesting choice. No crit or attack speed, but 50% conversion to fire is pretty unique. It has great synergy with it's brother unique Xoph's Blood. What you get with these two items is 100% physical to fire. This is important for what the bow/ammy do. The bow gives a free ele prolif link for ignites, which can lead to some burning chains, and the ammy gives 10% life, 10% damage, and the Ash debuff when things hit you.

Is this good? Well, for one thing, the bow boasts the highest pDPS for a unique bow in the game now. I feel you could make it work okay. It's also incredibly cheap. Fire damage nodes are nowhere near the ranger however. It could be extremely interesting and maybe secret op if you comboed just the bow with an Infernal Mantle and this tree variation...I like it! So much in fact that I might make a separate section for this weird build. The biggest downside is that you would get less leech as 50% of your phys is converted.

What should my armor have?
The #1 thing you need on every yellow piece is life. A high life roll is about 80. If you are getting one shot, you need more life. Life ranges for endgame range from 4k(extremely low, blade flurry says high) to 7k (about perfect gear) to 11k(I just geared for life)

The number two thing is resists! If you don't cap your resists, spells are going to murder you. You need 135% all resist and it's fucking hard to do so. Often one or two will lag behind and be at like 50 or 60%, do not be ashamed, it happens. Ideally perfect gear will have max resists. Resists can be counted by taking all resist nodes on the skill tree!

1.Life
2.Resist(s)

Alright, that's all gear should have. Try to keep your life and resists high! Remember that if an piece doesn't have 6 affixs on it, you can craft stuff on it, from 60 life to a missing resist! It makes gearing a lot easier! Some pieces (jewelry in specific) can have both specific resists and all resist!

Specific base item types to look out for!

As a evasion/crit character, some item types are always worth identifying, essence-ing, and the like.

Jewelry: Jewelry is a little special in PoE. It can have any affix you could want, from huge defensive jewelry that give 90 life and 120+ total resists, to offensive powerhouses that add more damage than uniques. Always identify jewelry. Top offensive stats for you include:
1.Crit chance
2.Crit multi
3.Attack speed
4.Added physical
5. Physical leech (not really offensive but great)

Rings
Ideally, in a perfect world, there are two ring types that a you would love.
-Diamond Rings, offer intrinsic crit, and could offer everything else a ring does
-Steel Rings, the big brother of iron rings dropped only in high tier maps, offer the most pDPS in the game
Until perfect gear, always be looking for good Two Stones and Single resist rings! Coral rings are another option!

Amulets
-Agate Amulets fill in the STR and INT void, Onyx Ammys can too!
-A high tier ammy, Marble Amulets help sustain.

Belts
-You have two choices for belts, Rustic Sashes for damage, and Leather Belts for tank.
You always want belts with high life and resists. Ideally two resists at least.
Other great belt modifiers include:
1.Anything related to life flasks
2.Life regen
3.Lol strength

Body Armor
-Always identify Assassin's Garb's, Zodiac Leather, Exquisite Leather, as these offer the highest evasion baseline.
You need three things for a body armor to be endgame.
1.% increased evasion
2.+ to evasion
3.life
Other than that, three resists would be perfect, literally a perfect chest. Life regen is also good. Body armors are the biggest piece of defense you will have.

Gloves
-The three highest tier evasion gloves are Stealth Gloves, Slink Gloves, and the expensive Gripped Gloves. Gripped are BiS besides Snakebite, but very rare.
Those affixs for your body armor? You ideally want them on your chest, gloves, boots, and helmet! Go hogwild welcome to endgame resist gearing. For each piece I will list their unique affixes that could be good also!
1. Attack speed
2. Life regen
3. Physical leech
4. Added fire/cold/lightning

Boots
-Highest bases are Shagreen Boots, Stealth Boots, and Slink Boots.
The one thing boots can have that is unique is up to 30% move speed. It actually is a huge difference!

Helmets
-You want Silken Hoods, Sinner Tricornes, and Lion Pelts. Helmets don't have any good unique affix's for you.

GOOD UNIQUE ITEMS FOR YOUR BUILD
Foreword: Unless I specifically state a unique will change/help your defenses massively, all uniques will never help you be as tanky as a perfect yellow.

Additionally, unless I give a unique 5 stars, it can be out-dpsed by a perfect yellow.

Bows:

Xoph's Nurture: Is a build changer. It has the highest straight dps of any unique bow, and enables some weird options. I don't... really recommend it unless your are willing to go all out with it. Your defenses would suffer so much that I don't think it would be playable? I think a Marauder Chieftain would do this build better too. Look for a post in the future about this build. Overall 4/5 for dps though. Very cheap as well. If you wanna try it, it's 1 alc.

Lioneye's Glare: Is a pretty high dps physical bow with huge amounts of attack speed. It's unique thing is it will get rid of accuracy entirely. It has no crit, but will do work. Another 1 alc bow! If you can get good crit on a yellow bow without crit I would recommend one of these! For pure dps, 4/5.

Silvertongue: May or may not exist as I cannot find any on poe.trade. It is a pretty high tier option as it drops of a T16 boss. It is a harbinger so it has crit. It opens up the option to put Fork in your tornado shot, or if your really weird running a Rigwald's instead of a Drillneck. The thing is idk if this bow is terrible, or secretly amazing as I don't know about bow characters but no one seems to be talking about it. You already get free bleeding as well. From a pure dps stand point though? 4.5/5

Reach of the Council: Is fucking expensive. We're talking 5 exalts. It's probably the fastest clearspeed tornado shot build in the game though. 4 more arrows is stupid. Other than that is has solid dps and attack speed. No crit. The kicker is 4 more arrows.
Purely dps? 4.5/5

Infractem: I wanna say this is usable, I hate this item though. You get free 100% pierce, meaning you save on those pierce nodes, but you can't leech. It has okay crit on it. To me it is just outpreformed by Death's Opus as a beginner bow.
3/5.

Death's Opus: To be honest, this bow has low physical damage compared to a good yellow. It has both crits and 2 additional arrows to counteract this. It will serve solidly until you upgrade to a higher tier unique or find a good yellow.
3.7/5

Quivers:

Drillneck: is the best quiver in the game. It is also the only unique quiver that's usable as a pure physical archer. Other unique quivers suck. If you don't want to use Drillneck, find a godlike Spike-Point quiver, spec out of the pierce cluster, and use something besides tornado shot. Barrage or some shit. Idk.

Amulets:

Victario's Acuity: Is interesting. You could potentially drop your blood rage/ass mark and run other shit. I don't think this is needed, and the 15% proj damage definitely doesn't beat a good crit ammy. No life either. Expensive too!
2.5
